About John Denner
Hello, My name is John Denner and this is my Official Website “All Things Denner” here is a little background information about me.
I was born in the great State of Connecticut where I received my degree in Marketing at the University of Hartford, CT. Today I live in Redwood City on the San Francisco Peninsula in Northern California’s Bay Area, approximately 27 miles south of San Francisco, and 24 miles northwest of San Jose. I have always felt the desire to trace the origin of my last name. This is why I decided to create a website about All Things Denner. Of course there are books, websites and discussion groups online dedicated to genealogy, which is the study of one’s family history. But I wanted to create something online dedicated entirely to the Denner Name. Once you begin any genealogical research, you will come to realize that your surname has its own unique history, and that’s exactly what I discovered when I began my personal journey.
The Mission of this website is to create a comprehensive online resource documenting the People, Places and History of All Things Denner. Here you will can learn about places like Denner Vineyards in Paso Robles California, and look back in history at the life of world famous musician Johann Denner (Inventor of the Clarinet) and World Famous Actor Charles Denner. Let the Journey Begin – John Denner

Inventor of The Clarinet
Did you know the Clarinet was invented by Johann Christoph Denner
Johann Christoph Denner was born on August 13, 1655, in Leipzig Germany and died April 20, 1707, in Nürnberg, Bavaria. Johann Denner was a German maker of musical instruments and universally credited for inventing the clarinet in Germany between the years (1690-1700). The Clarinet was later introduced to London by Johann Sebastian Bach in 1751. Bach was also a German composer and musician of the Baroque period best known for instrumental compositions such as the Art of Fugue, the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations.
Denner’s father, Heinrich, made horns and animal calls; from him Johann learned instrument building, at the same time becoming an excellent performer. His energy was mainly devoted to improving already existing woodwind instruments, and his well-tuned recorders, flutes, oboes, and bassoons were highly regarded throughout Europe.
John and Kate Music
John Denner began playing piano at the age of 3 and soon started using his gift at his local church at around the age of 8. Actor and Film Star Charles Denner
Charles Denner was a French actor born to a Jewish family in Tarnów, Poland on May 29th 1926 and died September 1995. During his 30-year acting career Denner worked with some of France’s greatest directors of the time, including Louis Malle, Claude Chabrol, Jean-Luc Godard, Costa-Gavras, Claude Lelouch and François Truffaut who gave him two of his most memorable roles, as Fergus in The Bride Wore Black (1968) and Bertrand Morane in The Man Who Loved Women (1977)
Charles concentrated on the stage while Francois Truffaut, Jean-Luc Godard, Claude Chabrol and other film-makers revolutionized French cinema at the time. When Denner returned it was in a star role – and with a bald head and a full beard – as Landru (1962), the infamous wife- poisoner, killing off such vieille vague stars as Danielle Darrieux and Michele Morgan: this was one of Chabrol’s early studies of murder and adultery among the bourgeoisie, the whole expected to be a winning combination (Francoise Sagan worked on the screenplay) – which Chabrol needed, after some undeserved flops, but it was perhaps too full-frontal for public acceptance and certainly too misogynist.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my website. I hope you will find something of interest while you are here! Please know this website is still a work in progress. If you believe there is someone or someplace I left out that should be featured on All Things Denner please email me (John Denner) using the contact form below.
